TreesForLife-logo [JPEG]is a coalition of ENGOs and agencies working to protect and enhance urban tree cover in Greater Toronto.

Together we:

PLAN

We collaborate with likeminded groups and communicate the urban forest’s benefits. We help fund tree planting, tree protection, and tree care projects across the GTA.  Our work reflects a passion to cultivate an appreciation for trees in all urban citizens.

PLANT

Our goal is to increase the tree canopy in urban areas to 40%.  In some regions the forest cover is as low as 20%, too low for a healthy ecosystem to function. All Trees for Life projects meet professional planting and maintenance standards because healthy trees grow faster, get bigger and live longer.

PROTECT

We help maintain the existing urban forest cover in the GTA. Endangered trees are protected by upholding municipal by-laws and provincial legislation.  Susceptible trees are cared for and repaired, increasing their resilience to disturbances such as extreme weather events.  Proper maintenance helps a tree not only thrive but survive the next big storm.
